For High School Classes - Insights into Research with Animals
The University of Zurich, in collaboration with Life Science Zurich, invites high school classes to take a direct look behind the scenes of selected laboratories. From February 2023, three laboratories at the Schlieren and Irchel campuses will open their doors to interested teachers and their high school classes.

Research and medicine have made enormous progress for the benefit of humans and animals. Animal experiments were essential for this - and they will remain so in the foreseeable future. At the University of Zurich, numerous groups conduct research with animals to better understand the biology, health and diseases of humans and animals and to develop new therapies.
Intended as an exciting and informative enrichment of the lessons, the scientists show high school students how and for what purpose animal experiments are carried out at the university, how they are regulated by law, and what is being done for animal welfare. Of course, the exchange and dialogue with the visitors will not be neglected.
