Image and Mirror Image - Exploring Chemistry, Nature, Art and Architecture
08.06.2024, 2 - 3.10 pm, UZH Irchel Campus
Using examples, the phenomenon of handedness (chirality) is examined from various perspectives. First, some implications of chirality for the molecular world are introduced. Odorants and flavorings, drugs and narcotics are discussed. Handed structures from the plant and animal kingdoms are then presented. Finally, references are made to art and architecture. Demonstration models are used to illustrate facts .
No knowledge of chemistry is required.
